Le Prof

Notre histoire

An academy, and a tutor.

Lyceo is a small language academy with a stubborn old-fashioned belief: that you learn a language from a teacher, not from a slot machine. So we built one. His name is Le Prof, and he teaches French the way a good tutor always has, patiently, exactly, and at your pace.

Why it works differently

Most apps optimise for the streak. They keep you tapping, not learning. Le Prof is built the other way round. The lessons are written once, by hand, and never change, because a thing you can rely on is a thing you can master. The practice, though, is generated fresh every single time, so there are no answers to memorise, only French to absorb. You do the work; he marks it and tells you plainly what to fix. There is no shortcut, and that is the point.

Earned, rung by rung

The course is mastery-gated: eighty percent on a unit test to climb to the next, all the way from your first bonjour to near-native command at C2. When you want to prove it, you can sit a full DELF or DALF mock and walk away with a certificate. Nothing is handed to you, which is exactly why it means something when you reach it.

What comes next

Le Prof teaches French today. But Lyceo is an academy, not a single class, and it is built to take on more tutors and more languages in the same careful shape. One day there will be a whole faculty here. For now, there is French, taught properly.
